Our little flower farm in the hills of Waroona is the perfect place to grow Dahlias and we have had wonderful success over the past four years and now its time to share our abundance of healthy tubers with you.
Dahlia’s bring so much joy and become so addictive with the vast range of colours and varieties available on the market. Each year I add to my selection and also remove those that didn’t serve well as a cut flower, this doesn’t mean they aren’t amazing for the garden, I am just looking for good vase life and certain colours.
All our tubers will be sent out with an an eye or shoot. We therefore will not be processing refunds as it is without our control once they leave our studio. I have delayed sending to ensure I am sending viable tubers and I ask that you contact me immediately with any concerns.
They are a hardy plant and with the right conditions and caring for you dahlias they will bring so much joy to you and those you share them with for years to come.
What do Dahlias need-
Well drained soil
Good fertile soil
Full sun with afternoon shade is ideal
Staking is recommenced as some varieties get quiet tall and wind can be an issue.
Regular fertilising
Watering as required - I mulch my dahlias so about every two to three days. Overwatering is one of the biggest mistakes I see. you will get lots of lush leave and little to no blooms and you most importantly run the risk the chance of rotting the tubers.
